A Big Thank You

Today, my fundraising topped the $1,500 mark, which is 30% of my goal, and I have all of you to thank. I am touched by how many of you have reached out to contribute to this effort. Sadly, so many people today have been affected by cancer that they are more than willing to donate. I am genuinely grateful each time I get an email notifying me that another friend has made a contribution; it warms my heart and renews my spirit.
The two questions I’m most frequently asked these days are 1) How is the training going? and 2) How is your dad doing? I’m lucky that on most days I am able to answer both of these questions in a positive manner.
My dad continues to undergo treatments every three weeks to combat his cancer. He is tolerating the treatment well and an upcoming CT scan will reveal how effective it has been. My greatest wish is for the doctor to give us the good news that the cancer is responding to treatment.
My training is on track, although an upcoming overseas vacation is likely to put a kink in my mileage. I have plans to continue training while away, but as I will be in unfamiliar territory for nearly two weeks, it will be challenging to complete all runs as scheduled.
My blog will also be on vacation until early August. When I return, there will surely be some interesting and/or humorous anecdotes to share about training during the trip.
So stay tuned! (And keep those donations coming…)
